Ducati Monster Senna protagonist at the MAUTO – Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile in Torino in the name of Ayrton’s myth

Ducati and MAUTO (National Automobile Museum of Turin) join forces to pay homage to the legend of Ayrton Senna, Formula 1® icon and passionate motorcyclist and Ducatista, through a series of initiatives as part of the exhibition “Ayrton Senna Forever”, organized by MAUTO in memory of the Brazilian Champion.

Until 3 November, inside the exhibition spaces of the Museum, together with the most significant cars driven by Ayrton in his career and some personal memorabilia, there will also be the Monster Senna: a special motorcycle created by the Centro Stile Ducati with the participation of Senna Brands, which honours the solid relationship established between Ducati and the Brazilian champion. A mutual passion between two icons of motorsport that will be analysed and told in detail in the late afternoon of Thursday, 17 October, during the Senna Talk entitled “Senna and Ducati: When Legends Meet” with the participation of the Ducati Museum Curator Livio Lodi and Lorenzo Corghi, Brand & Design Project Manager for the Borgo Panigale company.

The Ducati Monster Senna is a collector’s bike. A tribute to the legend in a limited edition, numbered in 341 units: 3, the number of World Titles won by Senna in Formula 1®. 41, the number of Grands Prix that Ayrton concluded on the top step of the podium. Presented in May 2024, at the F1 Grand Prix of Imola, the Monster Senna sold out in just a few hours, as had already happened with all the previous series of motorcycles dedicated by Ducati to the Brazilian Champion.

The choice of the Monster as the model to create this limited edition is linked to the history of Ayrton, who was one of the very first owners of the Monster 900, a bike used for his city journeys around Monte Carlo and on which he showed up at the gala evening for the presentation of the 1993 Monaco Grand Prix.

Ayrton liked the Monster’s simple and still extremely contemporary concept of wanting to bring fun in riding to the centre of the motorcycling experience. The Monster Senna pays homage to the talent of the three-time World Champion with a special livery inspired by the colour of the helmet that the racing driver wore throughout his career, with parts in yellow, green and blue, clear tributes to the Brazilian flag.

The Monster represents all the essence of Ducati in the most compact, essential and lightest form possible. The recipe is the original 1993 one: a sporty engine, but perfect for road use, combined with a Superbike-derived frame. All that you need to have fun, every day. It is powered by the Testastretta 11° engine, a liquid-cooled 4-valve twin-cylinder with desmodromic distribution that delivers 111 horsepower, reliable and fun thanks to a full power delivery curve at all speeds. It features an extremely rational and effective chassis inspired by Ducati Superbikes, fully adjustable and sporty suspension, forged rims, a braking system with Brembo front calipers and aluminium flanges for the brake discs and electronics at the top of the segment.

The Monster family, which can be customized through the new Ducati configurator, is made of the models Monster, Monster+ and Monster SP. All these versions are also offered in a 35 kW depowered version for A2 license holders. All motorcyclists can book a test ride at their local dealership directly from the Ducati website.

More information about the “Ayrton Senna Forever” exhibition and the “Senna and Ducati: When Legends Meet” Talk are available on the website of the MAUTO – Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile in Torino.
