Ducati and Automobili Lamborghini together in the name of art in the elegant spaces of Galleria Cavour for the event “Art of Creating Myths”. The evening in Bologna represented the world première of “Centauro”, a work of art created by the talent of Paolo Troilo based on one of the examples of the limited series Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini Speciale Clienti and created as a follow-up to “Minotauro”, a painting by the artist of 2021 on the bodywork of a Lamborghini Huracán EVO.
Paolo Troilo (Taranto, 1972) is an Italian artist known for his unique technique of hyper-realistic finger painting, one-of-a-kind in the world. “Centauro” is painted using this techique in the figurative representation of the arms of a man bent in acceleration that emerge on the two sides of the tank, and it is completed with other tools in the abstract geometric decomposition that characterizes the remaining parts of the motorcycle. This work combines myth and reality, embodying a superhuman strength that merges with the rationality enhanced by the shapes and volumes of the Streetfighter V4, thus transmitting power and a boundless sense of confidence in one’s abilities.
The idea of “Art of Creating Myths” was born in September 2022 at the same time as the world première of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini, the second chapter of the collaboration between the two Companies after the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini. With Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini a motorcycle capable of combining the values of sportiness, exclusivity and fascination is presented in a limited and numbered edition of 630 examples characterized by a brilliant livery in Citrea Green and Dac Orange. But the uniqueness of this project does not end here: on that occasion, in fact, Ducati and Automobili Lamborghini communicated that they had thought of an even more exclusive series of 63 units, called Speciale Clienti, which allowed 63 Lamborghini customers to come into contact directly with the Centro Stile Ducati and configure their Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini with colours, bodywork and rims exactly like those of their Lamborghini. Among these 63 customers there is also the owner of “Minotauro”, who therefore asked Ducati, Automobili Lamborghini and the artist Troilo to give life to “Centauro” work of art.
The “Art of Creating Myths” event, reserved for 200 Ducati and Lamborghini guests, saw the participation of the CEOs of the two companies: Claudio Domenicali and Stephan Winkelmann. The executives took the opportunity to underline the close collaboration between two Italian excellences that have contributed to writing the history of Motor Valley and which continue to work in synergy on numerous projects. “Centauro” and “Minotauro” are the perfect example of the beauty that arises from the partnership between two brands recognized worldwide for their iconic design: a unique and unrepeatable project in which the talent of an internationally renowned artist has made it possible to create a strong connection with the world of art in a combination of dynamism, power and emotions.
The event on Thursday 1 February, organized in collaboration by Ducati and Automobili Lamborghini, is included within the context of ART CITY Bologna and represents a part of the participation of the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer in the 2024 edition of Arte Fiera. Ducati is in fact a partner of the important modern and contemporary art fair in Bologna, supporting “Percorso”, the itinerary that connects some of the galleries through the common theme of drawing, and establishing the “Officina Arte Ducati Award” for the most deserving work of “Percorso”. Furthermore, during the opening period of Arte Fiera (2-4 February) Ducati will display the marble sculpture “Fortitudo Mea in Levitate” in Halls 25 and 26.
“Centauro” and “Minotauro” will remain on display to the public in Galleria Cavour, another luxury excellence in the Bolognese area, until 5 February 2024.
The video showing the work that led to the birth of “Centauro” has been presented on the Ducati YouTube channel. Further images of this unique motorcycle are available on Ducati Media House.
